Nobu Malibu has a secret menu for those-who-know, but unfortunately there's no secret way to get a last minute table. |
Ok, so most of the time I eat at Shophouse, but these are my top actual restaurants in LA. I'm not saying they're the best, or the hottest, and I'm definitely not saying I won't change my mind in a few months. But at the moment, these are my favorite places to pass an evening in LA.
1. Nobu Malibu
This, the best Nobu in the world, is also one of the best restaurants in the world period.
2. Catch
Not on the menu, Catch often offers a giant, GIANT crab that costs $800.
3. Chateau Marmont
Jaded Angelinos will tell you it’s cliche, but they all still go.
4. The Nice Guy
Nobody goes for the food. They go to feel like a somebody.
5. E Baldi
You've got to try the raviolini.
6. The Polo Lounge
Breakfast, lunch, brunch dinner... I can't decide which meal I like best here.
7. The Ivy
THE LA lunch spot, but only if you sit outside.
8. Il Pastaio
Merely above average Italian food, but some of the best people watching in LA.
9. Soho House
Friends to collect in LA: one with a boat, one with a house in the hills, and one with a membership here.
10. Cassia
This one makes every other restaurant in LA look like it's trying too hard.
11. Fresh Corn Grill
It's not always about scene or fanciness. Sometimes it's just about a really good salad.
Honorable Mention:
Delilah, Ysabel, Georgie, Cecconi’s, The Church Key, Toca Madera, Sugarfish, Republique, The Edmon, Georgio Baldi, Gwen
OMG, Shophouse is the best.
ReplyDeleteSoul Sisters! x
DeleteI like Au Fudge! Is that cheesy? If so, I don't care! Still haven't been able to get a res at Nobu though!
ReplyDeleteLOL sushi bar is open seating while you wait for a table, if that helps. And Au Fudge is amazing. x
DeleteYES the raviolini at E Baldi is the best thing I have ever eaten!
ReplyDeleteRight?! If I only ate one thing ever again, that would be it! x
DeleteFresh Corn Grill is my go-to! So true about Il Pastaio.
